7/23/08 Letter

"Hey everyone! How is everyone doing? I hope really well. Well so far this week has been a lot of fun, it's been cool to see how the Lord plays chess. So the experience I'm going to share isn't way crazy, but it made me feel like the Lord is in control."

"Life is like a game of chess, changing with each move" (Chinese Proverb)

"We had an appointment with Jean, one of our investigators, and it's really hard to relate to him because neither of us have been in his position before. (No job, no money, trying to find a job, and hates NJ.) So anyways, we were at the church and we are trying our best to help him out. He had a rough day, and doesn't feel good at all. Well we also had another appointment with a less active, that is coming back to church. So our appointment with Jean goes over and then Natalie shows up (the less active) and usually she is in a very depressed mood, but today she was just beaming. Well turns out she found out she has a heart leak, and she was just so happy because she knows about the Plan of Salvation, and she has no worries. She feels like everything will be OK. So we get in the same room, and then we just tell Natalie a little bit about Jean and she just went off, telling all her experiences since she joined the church. She was going through a lot more then Jean was, and she was able to testify of the church. Who would of thought the less active we had an appointment with would have gone through the exact same thing Jean went through, I don't know, it was pretty crazy to me."

"We also had a bomb lesson with one of our new investigators named Daniel, he is way cool, and he is about our age, a little younger. We taught him the plan of salvation, and he took it really well, so hopefully he will go somewhere. We also have done a lot of finding lately, and we have found quite a few new people to teach. So from starting out with almost nothing to having a bit of something more is amazing."

"There's an old man named Issac from Nigeria, and its really hard to teach him because he has such a thick accent. He is very old and sits down most of the time. E. Davis is awesome, he does everything he needs to without being asked. So I hope we can continue to work hard and to see success."

"I finally got my patriarchal blessing from Utah, and it has brought a lot of comfort. It talks a lot about my mission, which brings me a comforting reassurance that I can have a lot of success. I Love you guys and please remember to read your scriptures every night, it brings a lot of happiness if you do. LOVE YOU!!!!!"
